A Simple Spring Bouquet
Eating outdoors is a simple pleasure and with all the new growth that sprung up in May we almost have a covered, shaded terrace on which to sit protected from the warm sun.
It also brings to an end our month of “taking the outdoors, in” when we regularly collected spring flowers from our small front garden to decorate the table. Those same few bulbs gave up bundles of color for farewell bouquets and Mother’s day arrangements too. This is one of the best, just handpicked and placed into a mason jar with water for our dining table. The memory of these early floral bouquets gives way to the abundant fruitful and verdant growth which follows.
So as we sit around our dinner tables, whatever our dietary circumstances dictate, we hope that we achieved our aim this month: to share a crock-pot-full of inspiration with a bunch of good recipes.
Zen Toolkit
You can use fresh herbs instead for your table decoration. Sprigs of rosemary, mint, thyme and lavender look and smell good.
Zen Moment
“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep spring from coming.”
