Vonda’s “Zero SmartPoints” Tips

Our Chicken Tortilla soup is BIG on flavor and LOW on points! As Chicago Food critic, Kevin Pang says “it’s a restaurant quality meal prepared in your own home.”  Vonda Britt, Zen National Sales Manager and long-time WW member says “Staying on track is easy with this delicious recipe!”

Following up on last’s week’s BIG news we are doing a month of  WW friendly recipes.

We’ve had some great shares of our Chicken Tortilla Soup recently by WW (formerly Weight Watchers) Ambassador Biz Velatini at My BIzzy Kitchen . Biz has been blogging recipes since 2008 and has even had her awesome Skinny Pizza Dough go viral! Check out her e-book here. We will come back to that pizza dough later in the month.

So why is this Chicken Tortilla Soup so good?

  1. The spice combination in the Southwest Fiesta blend provide a depth of flavor minus the sodium
  2. The chicken breast is lean protein good for the whole family, so no need to cook separate meals
  3. The nutritious black beans and fruity tomatoes add more dimension and flavor
  4. No-fat Greek yogurt is the perfect ZERO point creamy topping to replace traditional sour cream
  5. Spray a WW tortilla with avocado or EVOO and pan fry until crisp for a healthier rival to store bought chips * Vonda loves Mission Carb Balance flour tortillas. 1 whole tortilla is 2 points
  6. It cooks in 6 minutes on manual pressure in the Instant Pot, or for 6 hours low and slow in your slow cooker. A great meal to plan somewhere into your busy week.
  7. It freezes well and try out these cool portion control soupercubes

  8. SmartPoints Values !

Vonda put together a series of hacks for us this month since she is familiar with WW and we recently launched our Family Favorites Trio as part of the WW Loves collection.

Great whether or not you’re following a WW plan! They’re certainly inspiration for Jane who finds herself regularly snacking from the almond jar.
