It takes a village…

Spice blendsWhile Jane and I grew up across the world from each other we share a common bond – being raised in a small town.

We appreciate the joys and frustrations (especially during those teenage years) of living in a community that shares the highs and lows of your life.

And after spending most of my adult life moving around the country I really wanted my children to have that same experience so we settled in Lake Forest 10 years ago. By that time both of my parents and sister had moved there so I felt very fortunate to have my family surrounding me from the moment I settled into my new home.

I’ll never forget that beautiful summer afternoon when my Mother drove me around to all of her favorite spots. The first place on her list was Amidei Mercantino. Amidei’s is a small family run market tucked in an alley behind Market Square and is one of Lake Forest’s gems. Each Summer the market opens with fresh seasonal vegetables and beautiful flower pots for your front doorstep. And each November the market is transformed into a glorious holiday shop teeming with beautiful Christmas trees and seasonal arrangements.

So when the Lake Forest Farmer’s Market ended in October we asked Amidei if they would be willing to carry our organic spice blends during the holiday season. And to our delight they created a spot for our spices at the entrance to their market.

Whether you’re raising a family or in our case growing a young business there is nothing nicer than having someone help “bring you up” and allow you to grow.

It is with much gratitude that we thank this local family for helping us fulfill our dream and if Amideiyou’re looking for a beautiful tree, festive holiday arrangement or our organic zen blends please stop by and visit them.

We hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving this year and thank you again for your support.

Warmly-

Meg and Jane
